NetSuite vs Acumatica vs Business Central for Vietnamese companies with VND 500-2,000 billion revenue

This NetSuite vs Acumatica vs Business Central comparison is for Vietnamese companies with revenue of VND 500-2,000 billion (about USD 19-77 million) that want to standardize operations on global best practice. The short answer: Oracle NetSuite is strong in multi-company, multinational finance; Acumatica is strong in its pricing model without per-user fees and in industry functionality; Business Central is strong in integration with the Microsoft ecosystem. The right choice depends on ownership structure, number of users and the level of Vietnamese localization required.

S4 Consulting - Acumatica Gold Partner in Vietnam and Oracle NetSuite consultant - does not implement Business Central. We have therefore tried to present the real strengths of all three platforms based on public information, along with the considerations for each.

What do the three platforms have in common?

All three are SaaS ERP running on the vendor’s cloud infrastructure and updated twice a year. NetSuite runs multi-tenant on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Business Central runs on Microsoft Azure with two release waves per year, and Acumatica ships two releases per year (R1, R2). All three offer international standard processes for finance, purchasing, sales and inventory, and provide open APIs.

This means companies should not choose based on whether a feature exists, because most core features are available on all three. The differences lie in pricing model, industry depth, the partner ecosystem in Vietnam and how Vietnamese accounting and labor requirements are handled. In the Nucleus Research SMB ERP Technology Value Matrix 2026, both Acumatica and Oracle NetSuite are in the Leaders group.

What criteria should a NetSuite vs Acumatica vs Business Central evaluation use?

How do different license models affect cost?

The biggest impact is on labor-intensive businesses. NetSuite and Business Central charge per user, so license costs rise with the number of accounts. From 1 October 2025, Business Central Essentials costs USD 80 and Premium USD 110 per user per month, up from USD 70 and USD 100. NetSuite does not publish a public price list, so companies need to request a quote for their configuration.

Acumatica charges by applications and resources used; in Vietnam, S4 offers a usage-based subscription model with unlimited users. Based on S4’s quotation surveys for companies with VND 500-2,000 billion revenue, Acumatica typically costs about USD 20,000-50,000 per year, or about VND 0.52-1.3 billion at a reference rate of about VND 26,000/USD. For contractors, factories and retail chains that need hundreds of users, this difference can be very large. Whichever platform you choose, keep license costs within the golden ratio of 1-2% of revenue.

How does Vietnamese localization differ across the three platforms?

This is the criterion Vietnamese companies should check most carefully, because Circular 99/2025/TT-BTC takes effect on 1 January 2026, replacing Circular 200. For Acumatica, S4 provides deep localization through packages for Vietnamese accounting, VN Payroll covering social, health and unemployment insurance, personal income tax, shifts and overtime under Labor Code 45/2019/QH14, and fixed assets under Circular 45/2013/TT-BTC, plus e-invoice integration, a Vietnamese interface and Zalo notifications.

For NetSuite, S4 has developed the NetSuite V2.0 accounting localization package for Circular 99. For Business Central, Microsoft does not provide an official Vietnam localization; companies use localization apps developed by Microsoft partners on the Marketplace. This is not an absolute weakness, but companies need to assess the capability and update commitment of the app developer.

Where are AI and MCP on the three platforms today?

All three are investing heavily in AI, with a shared direction of letting AI assistants access ERP data through MCP while keeping permissions. Oracle announced NetSuite AI Connector Service in August 2025, allowing companies to “bring your own AI” via MCP, and on 31 March 2026 announced MCP Apps with a demo on Claude and support for Gemini and ChatGPT. NetSuite Next, announced on 7 October 2025, brings Ask Oracle, AI Canvas and agentic workflows, initially for North American customers.

Business Central offers Copilot, Sales Order Agent and Payables Agent, and Microsoft is opening a path for AI agents to connect through an MCP server from 2025 release wave 2. Acumatica offers AI Assistant, AI Studio, anomaly detection and forecasting. More detail on true cloud and MCP is in our article on true cloud ERP, AI and MCP.

When should you choose Oracle NetSuite, Acumatica or Business Central?

Each platform has a clear zone of fit, and companies should shortlist two or three platforms and evaluate them on real scenarios.

  • Prioritize Oracle NetSuite when: the company is an FDI business or has a foreign parent, needs multi-company, multi-currency finance and strong consolidation, or is preparing for an IPO or fundraising. See Oracle NetSuite ERP.
  • Prioritize Acumatica when: the business is labor-intensive and growing, needs deep industry functionality for construction, manufacturing or F&B chains, and wants all Vietnamese operations on one platform with ready-made localization.
  • Prioritize Business Central when: the company has standardized deeply on Microsoft 365, Power BI and Power Platform, the number of full users is not large and there is a reliable localization partner.

How should a company organize the evaluation of the three platforms?

Evaluate with real business scenarios instead of generic demos. Pick the three to five most important processes, prepare sample data and ask each vendor to present on the same scenario, including financial statements under Circular 99 and Vietnamese payroll. In parallel, the CFO prepares a 5-year TCO covering licenses, implementation, the internal team, integration and AI.

Finally, assess the capability of the implementation firm in Vietnam: industry experience, ready-made localization packages and the post go-live support team. A good platform with an inexperienced implementer often delivers worse results than a well-fitting platform with an implementer who understands the industry.
